Rock ballad hero?

Don't worry, the track sounds great! Something about the keyboard voice and chords just gave me a slight 80's feel :P The drum beat is cool, but sounds weird on the kit that you have picked out. Maybe a more electronic set would fit better. The song is a little short for me (I wish it built up into something bigger before it ended), but composed very well! Keep it up!

SkyRiderX responds:

Thanks for the review! The drum kit itself is actually a mix of kits I made so that might explain why the drums might sound odd. Maybe i'll come back and extend it a bit someday but I'm glad you enjoyed it!

What is the sample saying?

Sounds pretty amazing to me, and I am far from a regular fan of hardstyle. I have to say, I like the first half of the track better than the end half... The second half is a little... Soft? :P Keep it up! Look forward to hearing the song finished!

Zinitymusic responds:

yea, its okay. well, the kick at the " second part " really sucks!
well, i will soon begin to make my own kicks just to get the " ULTIMATE KICK!" ;)

- btw. the start sample says - This is a place of Shreeks. Noisecontrollers made a track called Shreeks.. check it out! :-)

You have a lot of good, catchy stuff here.

Starts off insanely good. I think my jaw dropped at first, actually :P Some parts are a bit random and don't build-up/transition very smoothly (like 1:21 to 1:22, 1:47 to 1:49, or 3:03 to 3:09, for example). I also think it seems more repetitive than it actually is just because the instrument voices never change. I like the style, but I think the song could use a little bit of work on transitions and making different parts of the song stand out more. Parts like 2:35 and 3:35 are amazing! I'm not so sure about 3:03 on the other hand. All in all, great stuff - Reminds me almost exactly of my friends music! I like the upbeat melodies! Keep it up!

mattjohnson817 responds:

yeah dude every single part you mentioned i felt the same way about doesnt transitions very well in those few parts but ive tried a bunch of different things and those are the ones that i could get to work best. im sure when i go to record it with real guitar/drums ill find something better.

Gets off to a great start!

As most of your songs do. Very peaceful! I love that chord at 0:53! 1:12 was interesting - I can hear a hint of Tool. I like 1:29, and I want to be able to get into 1:29 (I can feel myself almost headbanging), but I think the complete lack of bass and the tone of the guitars deters me... The tempo slowing down around 2 minutes into an ambient part is a good idea, but that part just wasn't epic or long enough for that to sound good (in my opinion). I would suggest putting a crazy breakdown or heavy part after 1:12 and before 1:29... I think it would flow much better - then continue on into the ambient part or fade out, etc.
Sounds great! Has a lot of potential!

Fanopeion responds:

I will see what I can do about the bass and that awful guitar as soon as I get my Line 6 UX1 running smoothly again... Thank you for the pointers. I will take them into consideration. I agree with the ambient part... I just have to figure out what I want exactly. Thanks again

This is great!

I really like how your voice sounds! You should do more work with vocals/choir.

SoulSecure responds:

Keep an eye out for my upcoming tribute to CAKE of their song Long Time. It's got some harmonization in it.

Someone is attacked by a clown on an old VHS tape!

The sound quality was a bit FUNNY... I don't know if that is from your echo effect or what - just reminds me of someone being attacked by a clown! Sorry!

Deathrize responds:

I still crack up reading the last post.

Wow!

I'm really impressed by this intro... It better lead into one hell of a song! Haha. Great chords, timing, dynamics, etc. Looking forward to hearing it finished!

camoshark responds:

Thanks a lot!

I'll make sure the rest of the song'll be up for par!

Cheers,

Sounds pretty nice!

I feel like after the 30 second mark something should change... Although it works in this submission as a loop. I can't really say too much else, because it is so short... What is the Jazz Epic you're working on? Keep it up!

camoshark responds:

Thanks for the review!

This part was actually taken off of the project, being TOO pop for me and the general public's observation.

The Jazz Epic Project is a project I'm currently working on, planning to make a 10 minute song wich will include top notch jazz in the for of an Epic, a song depicting an adventure.

More news when I finish up the idea, it's actually never been done before.

Cheers,
Samuel Hébert
