Hell yeah, man!

It's so damn fast! 5/5 + 9/10 + Favorited.

dragontjah responds:

Thank you very much :)

Very refreshing, funky, and jazzy!

What a trip! The drums were great! 1:54 to 2:26 is probably my favorite part. Since this is just basically solos and variations of the same thing, it starts to get a little repetitive... But I appreciate your experimenting - it sounds like you are really mastering Mixcraft! Keep making music! This definitely shows promise!

SulfuricDonut responds:

Thanks man! There's definitively still so much more to Mixcraft than I've stuffed in this, and I plan on doing a bunch more new stuff.
And yeah... I noticed it got repetitive and so that's why I added the many-layered synth part with the epic drums, and after something like that there was really no option but to just end the song right there :P

I really love the sustained ambiance you have here

The song starts off with a traditional electronic bass line, but quickly picks up. This is a nice chunk of song for only 3 hours! My only real complaint is that it ends too soon, before it really develops into anything. You have some sustain, you have some ambiance, but it never really builds up into anything different... What you have is pretty good though, it would definitely fit well in an animation. It reminds me of pure curiosity and eagerness. Keep it up!

ZaDoo responds:

Well, the thing is I have a lot of incomplete songs with a good beat. I can't seem to make anything out of them because I don't know how to develop them.

I should work on that.

I like the whammy type effect you have on the lead

Nice style here! It reminds me of my friends guitar playing. The only problem I have noticed with your music is that you use the same type of harsh synth guitar sound in your songs. I know you were writing it for guitar so you probably want to keep that type of sound, but it really doesn't sound as good as it could currently. You might want to check into either some more realistic guitar sounds, or take a different approach with some more realistic sounds like a synth or orchestra that you can find. Besides the issues with the instruments actual sound, the composition was great! The drum programming was very fitting to the track (although, again if I were to critique the actual sound, you might want to check into better sounding drum kits, too). All in all, it's a very cool song. 5/5 (to try and raise your score a little, I would have probably given this a 4) + 8/10. Keep it up!

well...if i ever get the money i plan on buyin a midi output so i can record real guitar on here instead of this fake synthesized bullshit lol

I like how you used sound clips like an instrument

Keep working on this! It sounds sweet, but it is way too short! I cant musically appreciate this very much because it is basically an intro. If you planned on leaving it this way, it would probably work well for an intro to an animation or something though... Nice work!

Tarteviant responds:

this actually isn't the version I meant to upload.. I have the full mp3 I will update later..

Thanks!!

Spaced out trip to the grocery store music!

No vocals, but a weird triceratops vocal clip! Haha. That's all I have to say. Interesting style. The beat by itself is awesome, which is why I rated 5/5 + 8/10. Keep it up!

Tarteviant responds:

yea absolutely very spacy and nerdy with the thump of a jurassic dinosaur in the background.. thank you :)

Your best song yet! I'm impressed.

Even if everyone else is zero-bombing this, I gave you 5/5 because I can tell you are improving. Writing a good song is a process, and you are getting better. 0:15 to 0:50 sounds awesome! Keep it up!

ty! but i cant seem to reconstruct digital code still

This track has IMMENSE potential!

At first I was a bit skeptical about whether this song would have enough twists and changes to keep me interested... Well, positively, it does a have a lot of interesting parts to it. Here's my complete critique: The first thing I noticed I didn't like was 2:38 to 2:51, that should be completely cut out. The effect at 2:51 completes that guitar riff, without that, it sounds horrible. 4:36 is a good riff, but kind of a rough transition. 4:55 is completely bad-ass and an amazing transition. Keeps sounding awesome until 6:00... Again, a gritty transition. Nothing really grabs my attention again until 7:24. 8 minutes of metal is definitely a pretty cool feat! This songs has a lot of sections that are expertly composed. This could easily be my favorite metal song, but there are some things I don't like. Maybe you could try using some panning or some other effect to peak the listeners interest and distinguish or emphasize between certain parts of the song. I know you are completely relying on guitars for this track, but if you look at it purely compositionally, I think adding some other string instruments (like violins) or some type of sound diversity would really enhance the song. Also, it is sludgey... I like the sound of the drums (great drum programming) much more than the tone of the guitar... 4/5 + 8/10. All in all, the majority of the song shows good creative and technical skill. You have strong talent for playing guitar and writing metal! Just keep pushing yourself!

PS. I am a new fan!

ElektrikWizrD responds:

Thanks for the critique! To be honest I kind of just went from measure to measure while writing to be honest, I didn't pen any of it down I sort of just did it all in one go. Will keep some of those things in mind!

I make electronic music. I also play drums and bass.
